Condor
Location: Santa Cruz province, Patagonia, Argentina. Closest locality is Tres Cerros, 40 Km to the westOverview: Advancing epithermal Gold Exploration project
Property Size: Approximately 6000 Hectares in three claims
Ownership: 100% Argentex (through subsidiary SCRN Properties Ltd)
Capsule Geology: The area is divided into two geological settings; lower Jurassic La Leona Formation granites at the southern portion and middle to upper Jurassic acid to intermediate volcanic rocks (Bahía Laura volcanics; the prospective unit) in the northern part.
Mineralization: Volcanic domes with high-grade quartz veins and hydrothermal breccia-hosted mineralization. Multi-gram gold values returned from surface samples.
Work completed to date: Regional (1:20,000 scale) map of the district, 1:5,000 mapping of the target area (4 by 5 km in the central northern part), and detail mapping of the Aguila vein area. Geochemical surveys: several rock chip samples all over the project, and more than 900 soil and lag samples in the target area. More than 1,600 meters of trenches, with 378 channel samples. Geophysics: regional (4 by 4 Km area) and detail (600 by 600 m area) ground magnetometry surveys in the target and Aguila area, and one 3D IP survey at the Aguila area. Drillings: 2,250 meters in 14 diamond holes.
Proposed Future Work: Initial drill testing of high priority targets derived from previous surface and geophysical work. Additional 3D IP geophysics is proposed to target two different styles of mineralization; low grade Au at with bulk tonnage potential within hydrothermal breccias related to volcanic domes, and high grade quartz veins (feeders of the breccia mineralization). Provided we obtain positive drill results, our next goal is to interpret, define and expand mineralization sufficient to complete a preliminary resource estimate.
